Workshops & Retreats
Pilates &
Yoga in the Park is a free event, as much social as exercise, on Saturday,
July 10th at 11:00 AM. Join me and fellow trainers and friends for a day
of fun in the sun (or it could be fitness in the fog...this is San Francisco
in July) Please RSVP and bring a bag lunch.
Dancing with Michael
I've whipped together all sorts
of music and styles in this heart pounding, non-stop, dance-exercise class.
I'll show you how to make the most of your moves whether they're ballet
or hip-hop. Each session repeats and builds upon the sequence learned
the previous week, so after just a few classes you're performing a sophisticated
dance combination like a pro.
Your first class is free! Thereafter
you can take a single class for $15 or purchase a non-expiring package
of 10 classes for $120.
I teach at the Harvey Milk
Recreation Center (corner of Duboce and Scott Streets), Friday mornings
9:30 - 10:30 AM.
Tuesday Group Circuit Training
7:00 PM on Tuesday evenings
a small group of us meet for group training. This circle of exercise stations
motivates you to workout harder than you would alone and let's you bounce
ideas off others in the group. Conversation, comradery and creative thinking
flows when you're moving. You might make friends for life. At $20 per
class it also gives you a big bang for your buck. Class size is limited
to six intelligent, friendly, well spoken participants, so contact me
if you'd like to join us.
Exercise for Cancer Patients
My recent journey as a caregiver
for a life imperiled loved one has inspired me to return to my work with
cancer survivors. I am now a registered provider with Sunflower Wellness.
If you or someone you know might benefit form life affirming movement,
please contact me for assistance. You can also read about my perspective
on caregiver challenges by reading my latest story posted on the Fiction
Page of this site.
Free Weight Loss Group
Are you frustrated by an elusive
weight loss goal? You are not alone. "Never on Sunday" is a
mindful eating training program. It's a free, online blog/support group.
We commit to a different diet challenge every week with weekends off.
You'll need a google email account (also free) to join the conversation,
but you can participate in the diets without it, simply by visiting the
site at:

Studio Upgrades
This is the season for outdoor
training and my garden is in its fourth year of glorious bloom. Let the
sunshine smile upon you while you flex your muscles. Agility ladder, medicine
balls, TRX straps and yoga props are all options for us to train in the
garden or across the street at Duboce Park.
Education
I've completed the Yoga Loft's series
of teacher training workshops. Now for the tough part, actually teaching
yoga. It will likely take me all summer to navigate the apprentice hours
under the direction of my mentor Jason Crandel.
Art
My latest story "Esperar - Care for the Caregiver" is available
at the fiction tab of this site. It is my personal assessment of the emotional
challenges facing those who nuture life-threatened people. I hope the article
imparts the passion and difficulty of an incredible and transformative journey.
