exercise of the will

“Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, there providence moves also. All sorts of things occur to help one that would otherwise never have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no one could have dreamed could ever come his way.”

My most recent composition is my second play. "The Wisdom to Know the Difference" is the story of two men of different generations coping with their self-image in a romance. One of them doesn't have much time to find love. Is the glass half-empty or half-full? The extremes of these points of view are represented by unseen angels. You can read the play on the Fiction page of this site> in fact you can act it, direct it and critique it. The table-reading party is Saturday, February 18th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, on the Auditorium stage of the Eureka Valley Recreation Center, 100 Collingwood at 18th Street, San Francisco.
